Examples of how to use this Search
- Type " ABC " in the Business Name field and hit Search. All businesses with " ABC " in the name will be displayed. Details of specific businesses in the results can be viewed by clicking on the name of the business.
- Click the Search Again button and in the Industry Type field type the NAICS code number that matches a type of company from your first search. Hit search and all the companies of that type will appear.
Note: The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) coding system was developed to provide a consistent framework for the collection, analysis and dissemination of industrial statistics used by government policy analysts, academics and researchers, the business community and the public. Canada , the United States and Mexico have agreed upon this method for classifying businesses and it is now the industry standard. AlbertaFirst phased out the old SIC coding system in April 2004 and now we use only NAICS to code businesses within our database.
- Click the Search Again button and type " ABC " in the Keyword field and hit Search. Records displayed will have the phrase " ABC " in any of the database fields, including a company's own description of their line of business. Multiple keywords should be separated with spaces.
- Enter a specific community in the City/Town field and highlight the Exporter button. Records displayed will only be exporters from the community you have selected.
