Where town and country meet!

Where big city opportunities and quiet country living form the ultimate combination. Only a few minutes away from the City of Grande Prairie, and nestled in an agricultural area rich with natural resources, Sexsmith is truly the land of opportunity. One of the greatest potentials in the area is value added products produced from local resources.
Add to this the unique setting of a restoration project that has transformed Sexsmith’s downtown core back to 20’s and 30’s theme. Sexsmith’s treasures include the Sexsmith Blacksmith Shop, a provincial historical site built in 1916, and one the best examples in Canada of an early smithy. Further expanding on the old time theme is the old railway station and caboose on the tracks, downtown streetscape of structures still standing with the boomtown fronts and wooden frames, a liver barn, three standing elevators, old time churches, a gazebo, vintage clock, and street lighting.
But don’t be misled by the tranquility of our landscape, as underneath is a bustling business community spinning off the rich resources of our area, where excellent opportunities await those willing to venture forth. Multi-national companies have discovered the potential of Sexsmith and chosen to locate here. The opportunities are endless.
Sexsmith is the ideal place to raise a family as we have excellent educational, cultural, and sports facilities, which cater to our young people.
Come and be a part of this friendly little community where country charm and big business reside hand in hand – and where the frontier concept of people helping people is still very much a part of our everyday life.
Sexsmith where our roots and future merge. Come build your future with us!

The Town of Sexsmith is one of the oldest and more progressive communities in the Peace River region. In the early 1900's, Sexsmith was known as the "Grain Capital of the British Empire", shipping more grain than any other port in the Empire in 1949.
Today, Sexsmith is a friendly town of over 2,255 people. The area is one of the largest grain-producing areas in the world and the combination of fertile soil and hard-working, community-minded people, who have managed to provide excellent education, religious, recreational and cultural facilities and programs, continues to make Sexsmith a great place to live and raise a family.
