Area Overview

Located just east of Red Deer, Delburne began with the survey of the railroad in 1910. The townsite was put on sale in October of that year, attracting an influx of people eager to start a new community. It was incorporated as a village on January 13, 1913.

Today, Delburne is a thriving village with a strong community spirit. It retains the benefits of small town living, with easy access to the amenities of the larger urban centre of Red Deer. The Village has maintained a steady, manageable growth over the past few years.

Location

The Village of Delburne is located in the County of Red Deer No. 23, centrally located between the City of Red Deer, and Towns of Stettler and Three Hills.(40 km east of the City of Red Deer, 188 km northeast of Calgary and 195 km southeast of Edmonton.)

Economic Base

Agriculture and the petroleum industry have provided a stable economy for the Delburne area. Recently, the Village has experience positive growth in the manufacturing industries as well.Natural resources in the region include fertile soils for agriculture, natural gas, coal and oil.Products made locally include all grains, vegetables, livestock, milk, poultry, hay, honey, hogs, coal, oil, natural gas, petrochemicals and sound suppression systems.
